Ben Doak deserves second Celtic transfer chance as Liverpool starlet backed for… Read More 👇

Ben Doak, the young Liverpool talent, has been tipped for a potential return to Celtic, and former Celtic hero Brian McClair believes the Scottish champions should seriously consider bringing the player back to Parkhead if the opportunity arises.

Doak, who is just 18 years old, left Celtic in 2022 to join Liverpool and quickly made an impact, catching the eye of manager Jurgen Klopp and making his way into the first team after impressive performances in the youth setup. However, recent reports suggest that Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, might be open to letting Doak leave on loan or even permanently, with the player not yet fully established in the first team.

McClair, a former Celtic and Manchester United forward, shared his thoughts in an exclusive interview, suggesting that Doak could be a valuable addition to Brendan Rodgers’ squad. He emphasized that Celtic should be interested in young talents like Doak, especially considering his early breakthrough at a top Premier League club like Liverpool.

McClair acknowledged that Doak’s departure from Celtic a couple of years ago might be seen as a negative by some fans, but he argued that what truly matters is the player’s potential and ability to contribute on the pitch. He highlighted that Doak’s age and position make him an attractive option for Celtic, particularly if they can secure him on a loan deal initially.

He also noted that if Doak continues to develop and perform well, he could become a key player for Celtic, regardless of his past decision to leave the club. McClair stressed that football is ultimately about performance, and if Doak can deliver results on the field, he would soon win over any skeptics among the fans.

The possibility of a return to Celtic Park has been suggested as a logical move for Doak if he were to leave Liverpool, but other clubs like Leicester City and Southampton are also reportedly interested in the young Scottish winger. However, McClair believes that Celtic should seize the chance to bring Doak back to Glasgow if the opportunity presents itself, whether on loan or as a permanent signing.

McClair sees Ben Doak as a promising young player who could add quality to Celtic’s squad. Despite his previous departure, McClair argues that Celtic should focus on what Doak can bring to the team now, rather than dwell on the past. If the player continues to develop and perform, he could become a valuable asset for the club, and McClair believes Celtic should not hesitate to pursue him if Liverpool are willing to let him go.
