Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has provided a detailed update on the club’s current injury concerns, shedding light on the challenges the team faces as they approach a crucial part of the season.

One of the key updates involves defender Leo Hjelde, who suffered a concussion during training this week. As a result, Hjelde has entered the concussion protocol, ruling him out of Leeds United’s upcoming match against West Bromwich Albion. Farke mentioned that Hjelde’s recovery is expected to keep him sidelined until the following Monday, adding to the list of injured players Leeds has had to contend with this season.

The injury list at Leeds remains lengthy, with several key players already sidelined. Captain Liam Cooper is out for up to two months due to a ruptured plantar fascia, and winger Crysencio Summerville is expected to miss three weeks due to a groin injury. In addition, Junior Firpo is out for four weeks, Patrick Bamford is not expected to return until after the international break, and Tyler Adams and Mateo Joseph are also recovering from injuries.

However, there is some good news for Leeds fans. Farke revealed that Sam Greenwood has returned to full training after missing the start of the season, and both Georginio Rutter and Joe Rodon had a full week of training, putting them in contention for selection in the upcoming match. Despite these positive developments, Farke acknowledged that it has been a “tricky” week for the club, but he remains optimistic about the squad’s ability to compete in the upcoming fixtures.

Farke, though, has revealed that Bogle was only suffering from cramp in the face of a hard afternoon competing against tricky left winger Liam Millar who Farke admitted even caused Archie Gray bother in two games for former club Preston North End last term

Asked about Bogle’s withdrawal and if it was an injury or just tiredness, Farke said: “No, just some cramps. It was also an intense game, he had to sprint a lot. We know how difficult it is also to defend Millar all the time.

“We had an experience even last season, although Archie was shining in many games, he had some problems also against him and I was pleased then to be able to bring Sam Byram in with his experience  and it’s still important also to have him fit and available.”
