The F1 title race is heading into its final, chaotic rounds, with a mix of traditional circuits, street tracks, sprint races, high heat, altitude challenges, and night races testing the drivers and teams. As the final triple header begins in Las Vegas in late November, the competition is intensifying.
Mathematically, Lando Norris faces an uphill battle with a 52-point deficit and six rounds remaining. To claim the championship in Abu Dhabi, he would need to outscore Max Verstappen by an average of 8.67 points each weekend. His fate, however, is no longer in his hands.
Even if Norris wins every race, scores the fastest lap, and wins every sprint, if Verstappen consistently finishes second, the Dutchman would win the title by a single point—a reference to Daniel Ricciardo’s fastest lap in Singapore, which denied Norris crucial points. Norris will need at least one major result against Verstappen to regain the momentum necessary to win the championship.
Missed chances since the mid-season break have hurt his campaign. For example, in the Dutch Grand Prix, a qualifying error by Oscar Piastri prevented him from finishing ahead of Norris, limiting Norris’s ability to close the gap on Verstappen, who lost only eight points.
