Hamilton change confirmed by Mercedes before next race following…read more

Mercedes has revealed an exciting update regarding Lewis Hamilton before the Las Vegas Grand Prix. This announcement comes as Hamilton’s remarkable tenure with the team nears its conclusion. With his recent confirmation of a 2025 move to Ferrari, Hamilton is now facing the last stretch of his tenure with Mercedes—a partnership that’s yielded six world titles and an extraordinary record-breaking legacy. His departure, which will follow a final season marked by the ups and downs of Mercedes’ W15 performance, signals the end of a significant era for both Hamilton and the team.

Hamilton’s recent performances in Austin, Mexico, and Brazil have been turbulent, leaving him visibly frustrated in post-race interviews. Despite his skill and experience, the champion has struggled to adapt to Mercedes’ inconsistent race pace, which has failed to match up to rivals like Red Bull and Ferrari. Now, with only a few races remaining before his move, Hamilton is left to navigate the challenges of his final races with Mercedes as he aims to end this chapter on a high note.

Starting in 2025, Hamilton will join Ferrari, marking a fresh start with one of Mercedes’ top rivals. Young Italian driver Kimi Antonelli will fill Hamilton’s seat, making his full-time Formula 1 debut in what is expected to be a significant new phase for Mercedes. Until then, Hamilton’s primary goal will be to maximize his results with Mercedes, while also looking forward to the potential in his future Ferrari machinery. The Italian team, led by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, has shown impressive pace in recent races. Both Leclerc and Sainz have achieved wins at the U.S. and Mexican Grands Prix, respectively, pushing Ferrari past Red Bull to secure second place in the Constructors’ Championship.

For Hamilton, the Ferrari move represents a major opportunity to chase a historic eighth world title, a record that would further solidify his legacy in Formula 1. Although his Ferrari debut won’t happen until the 2025 season, he will be closely watching the Italian team’s performance as he prepares for a fresh challenge with them.

In addition to this monumental career update, Mercedes recently announced a new change for Hamilton’s upcoming races. The team, in collaboration with INEOS and INEOS Hygienics, organized a helmet design competition for UK students, inviting them to submit creative ideas for the champion’s headgear. Out of nearly 2,000 entries, three winners were selected, with their designs set to be featured in Hamilton’s final races of the season, starting with the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Sharing the news on X, Mercedes expressed their gratitude to all participants, saying, “We asked. You delivered.”
