Sky Sports F1 pundit leaves after 13 years and issues emotional statement

Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 World Champion, has announced his departure from the Sky Sports F1 punditry team after 13 years with the broadcaster. In an emotional statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) page on Friday, Hill confirmed the news, expressing his gratitude for the incredible journey. “It’s been a fantastic 13 years with @SkySportsF1 but all good things come to an end,” Hill wrote. He continued, “I will miss the most impressive bunch of professionals it has ever been my pleasure to have worked with,” hinting at the strong relationships he had built with his colleagues during his tenure. Hill’s statement concluded with a hopeful note as he said, “Looking forward to new challenges #F1.”

Although the reasons behind Hill’s departure are still unclear, and whether it was a personal decision or prompted by Sky Sports is yet to be confirmed, the announcement marks the end of a significant era in F1 broadcasting.
