Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has reignited rumors about a potential future partnership between Max Verstappen and Mercedes, sparking renewed interest in the Dutch champion’s long-term Formula 1 plans.

While Verstappen is currently under contract with Red Bull until 2028, Wolff’s recent comments suggest the possibility of a switch down the line.

Despite both Mercedes and Red Bull facing challenges in recent seasons, Verstappen remains the clear favorite to claim the 2024 drivers’ championship.

“The events of 2021 were tough, but they didn’t affect our personal connection. Jos and I share a similar outlook on racing, and that hasn’t changed.”

Although Verstappen is unavailable for the near future, Wolff’s regret over not securing him earlier in his career has been well-documented.
