Mercedes take STUNNING 1-2 as Verstappen crowned champion at Las Vegas Grand Prix

Max Verstappen secured his fourth Formula 1 World Championship during the Las Vegas Grand Prix, despite finishing fifth in the race.

The championship was confirmed when Lando Norris, his closest competitor, came in sixth, leaving Verstappen with an unassailable lead in the standings.

The race itself was a spectacular showcase for Mercedes, with George Russell taking the win and Lewis Hamilton completing a dominant 1-2 finish for the team.

Starting from 10th on the grid, Hamilton delivered an impressive performance, carving through the field to challenge Russell in the closing stages.

However, Russell held his ground, crossing the line to secure a well-earned victory.

Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished third and fourth, respectively, adding valuable points to Ferrari’s campaign in the constructors’ championship.

The result intensifies the fight for the team title, with Ferrari narrowing the gap to McLaren, who currently lead the standings.

While Verstappen’s Red Bull team was not in contention for the top spots in Las Vegas, his consistent performance throughout the season ensured his title success, highlighting his dominance in the 2024 championship.

The thrilling race, set against the backdrop of Las Vegas’ vibrant cityscape, not only crowned Verstappen as champion but also reignited the battle among teams, with Mercedes and Ferrari delivering standout performances in the season’s final stages.
