F1 Teams Investigate Issues After Challenging Las Vegas GP Sessions

The team opted not to bring a trimmed rear wing, which has affected their performance.
As a result, Mercedes and McLaren have dominated the timesheets, delaying Verstappen’s potential title victory until the Qatar Grand Prix, should current trends persist.
Aston Martin has also struggled during the early sessions in Las Vegas. During FP3, Lance Stroll’s car suffered a power failure exiting Turn 12.
The incident brought out a red flag as the Canadian driver’s cockpit display went dark, and smoke emerged from the car.
Stroll quickly exited the vehicle, leaving the team with significant repairs ahead of qualifying.
Aston Martin later announced they would investigate the issue, which adds to a series of setbacks for the Silverstone-based team.
Their problems in Las Vegas follow a difficult outing at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where both Stroll and teammate Fernando Alonso failed to score points.
Stroll’s weekend in Brazil was particularly challenging, as he spun out during the formation lap and became stuck in the gravel while attempting to rejoin the track.
Elsewhere on the grid, Williams also faced technical difficulties.
Alex Albon’s FP2 session was cut short due to a fuel system issue, further complicating the team’s weekend.
Aston Martin’s recent struggles have allowed Alpine to close the gap in the Constructors’ Championship standings. Alpine’s double podium finish in Brazil has brought them closer to Aston Martin’s fifth-place position, increasing the pressure on the team to resolve their performance and reliability issues.
