Red Bull star confirms NEW deal in official statement
A Red Bull-affiliated driver has secured a new deal for the 2025 season, as confirmed in an official announcement.
Both Red Bull Racing and their sister team, Visa Cash App RB (VCARB), have faced scrutiny over their driver lineups throughout the 2024 season.
Daniel Ricciardo was dropped from VCARB in September, while Sergio Perez’s position alongside Max Verstappen has been under constant speculation due to poor performances.
Perez hasn’t secured a podium finish since the Chinese Grand Prix in April and has only earned 13 points across the last eight races.
This lackluster run has brought attention to several young Red Bull talents, including Liam Lawson, as well as Formula 2 (F2) prospects Isack Hadjar and Oliver Goethe, all seen as potential future team drivers.
Oliver Goethe, in particular, has made significant strides.
After an impressive campaign in Formula 3 (F3), he was promoted to F2 earlier in the season to replace Franco Colapinto at MP Motorsport.
Colapinto, meanwhile, stepped up to Formula 1, joining Williams.
Now, Goethe has been confirmed as a full-time driver for MP Motorsport for the 2025 F2 season, where he will team up with Richard Verschoor.
In a statement, the German driver expressed enthusiasm about the continuation of his career with MP Motorsport.
He highlighted the value of his current experience with the team, having participated in four F2 rounds this season.
Goethe acknowledged the team’s support since his early single-seater days and looks forward to competing in Abu Dhabi before fully preparing for the challenges of the 2025 season.
This announcement marks a crucial step for Goethe as he aims to solidify his position in Red Bull’s talent pipeline and move closer to a potential Formula 1 opportunity.
