Red Bull team make CRUCIAL driver ‘decision’ as 2025 grid set to be…read more

Red Bull junior driver Isack Hadjar is reportedly set to make his Formula 1 debut in 2025, a decision that could finalize the grid for the upcoming season. Currently, only one seat remains available for the 2025 campaign, with speculation about who will partner Yuki Tsunoda at the Red Bull junior team, known as VCARB.
Liam Lawson recently filled the seat after taking over from Daniel Ricciardo for the latter part of the 2024 season. However, Lawson could be in line for a promotion to the main Red Bull team, especially given ongoing speculations regarding Sergio Perez’s future. Despite having signed a contract extension with Red Bull earlier this year, Perez’s position remains uncertain, prompting Red Bull chief Helmut Marko to announce that a decision regarding Perez’s future will be made following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Recent reports from France indicate that Isack Hadjar’s potential advancement to Formula 1 is a critical element in this plan. Hadjar had a strong season in Formula 2 but faced a disappointing finish at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he stalled at the start of the feature race. Although he managed to resume racing, his early setback meant that title rival Gabriel Bortoleto was able to secure the championship. “Yeah, I stalled, I need an explanation, man,” Hadjar expressed during the race. “I can’t believe all this hard work for that. The worst moment of my life right now,” he reflected on the unfortunate incident.
Despite this setback, Hadjar’s trajectory towards Formula 1 seems unaffected, according to a report from Auto Hebdo, which states that he is likely to join the F1 grid next season. This report suggests that Hadjar will partner with Tsunoda at VCARB. Hadjar’s own remarks have hinted at a pre-established plan for his next career move, even if details have not yet been made official.
