The Seahawks are returning to the mix for a postseason berth and are winning when it counts most.

With 57 seconds remaining, Geno Smith found Colby Parkinson for his second touchdown pass of the fourth quarter of five yards, and the Seahawks, who had won two straight games, comfortably maintained their postseason chances by defeating the Tennessee Titans 20-17 on Sunday.

For the Seahawks (8-7) to guarantee their second straight postseason appearance, they still need to win out. However, with two games left, Seattle has secured the seventh and final postseason berth in the NFC after Minnesota’s defeat to Detroit.

After defeating Philadelphia on Monday night and making the cross-country trip for the early kickoff, the Seahawks got off to a poor start. With a groin injury that kept him out of the last two games, Smith hit DK Metcalf in the left corner for an 11-yard pass to give the Seahawks their first lead at 13-10.

With 3:21 remaining, Derrick Henry scored a 2-yard touchdown run to put Tennessee back up 17-13, but Smith answered. Just like Drew Lock did against the Eagles to win by the same score, he marched the Seahawks 75 yards over 14 plays and scored a touchdown throw in the closing minute.

Smith remarked of Seattle’s last drive, “I’m thinking just like last week.” “We had an opportunity to duplicate Drew’s excellent performance from last week.
