Ricciardo Red Bull UPDATE emerges after F1…read more
Daniel Ricciardo, an eight-time Formula 1 race winner, faced a tumultuous end to his F1 career, being dropped by McLaren and later by Red Bull.
After losing his McLaren seat to Oscar Piastri for the 2023 season, Ricciardo returned to Red Bull as a reserve driver.
He was later handed a lifeline mid-2024 when he replaced Nick de Vries at Red Bull’s sister team, VCARB (formerly AlphaTauri).
Despite his return, Ricciardo struggled to match his earlier performances, consistently being outperformed by teammate Yuki Tsunoda.
His poor showing, including a P18 finish in Singapore, led to his replacement by Liam Lawson for the rest of the season.
Following his dismissal, Red Bull boss Christian Horner expressed his admiration for Ricciardo, emphasizing his value to the team and hinting at potential roles outside racing.
Horner stated that Ricciardo would always be welcome at Red Bull, particularly in marketing or ambassadorial roles, given his significant profile and connection with the brand.
Horner also suggested that Ricciardo might pursue opportunities in the United States if interested.
Despite Horner’s comments, Ricciardo has not maintained a relationship with Red Bull since leaving F1. German media speculated that the new Cadillac F1 team might offer him a seat.
However, Ricciardo dismissed these rumors in a viral TikTok video, where he responded to a fan asking about a potential move to Cadillac by saying, “Nah I’m done,” seemingly confirming his decision to step away from Formula 1 entirely.
