Hamilton fired FIERCE Ferrari team chief warning ahead of 2025

A significant warning has been issued to Lewis Hamilton ahead of his highly anticipated switch to Ferrari in 2025. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion will end his remarkable 12-season tenure at Mercedes and move to the iconic Maranello-based team. Hamilton is set to partner with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, where he will aim to return to championship contention after three challenging years with the Silver Arrows.

Fans got a glimpse of Hamilton’s potential with Ferrari during the 2023 season finale in Abu Dhabi. After starting the race in 16th, Hamilton delivered a thrilling drive, charging through the field to finish in 4th place. This impressive performance has fueled excitement among Ferrari supporters as they look forward to the new pairing.

However, former Williams driver Ralf Schumacher has issued a cautionary note about Hamilton’s upcoming move. Speaking to Sport1, the six-time Grand Prix winner highlighted the challenges Hamilton is likely to face when he joins Ferrari, particularly in terms of competing with his new teammate, Charles Leclerc.

According to Schumacher, Hamilton’s experience will be a significant asset, allowing him to read races with precision and adapt to different conditions. However, he also pointed out that Hamilton may struggle in qualifying against Leclerc, a known standout in this area. Schumacher noted that Leclerc’s ability in qualifying is one of his strong points, which could give him an edge over Hamilton, especially given the different driving styles that the two drivers may have.

Schumacher also emphasized the importance of how the new Ferrari will be developed in the coming months. Hamilton’s success with Ferrari will depend on whether his driving style aligns well with the car’s characteristics. If Leclerc’s style is more suited to the car, it could pose an additional challenge for Hamilton as he adjusts to his new environment.

While Hamilton’s reputation for racecraft and strategic thinking is unquestioned, adapting to a new team and a new car after such a long period with Mercedes will not be without its difficulties. Ferrari’s current focus on developing their car for the future will be crucial in determining whether Hamilton can quickly find his feet and challenge for wins and titles alongside Leclerc.

With expectations high for his performance, Hamilton’s move to Ferrari is one of the most eagerly anticipated stories in the 2025 F1 season. Whether he can live up to the legacy of the Scuderia and secure a championship after his years of frustration at Mercedes remains to be seen. But Schumacher’s warning suggests that while Hamilton’s experience will be valuable, the battle with Leclerc and the new Ferrari car’s development could prove to be significant hurdles.
