Hamilton Ferrari debut date ‘CONFIRMED……read more

Lewis Hamilton’s highly anticipated debut with Ferrari has been officially confirmed, with Italian media reports revealing the exact date of his first run in a Ferrari car. Hamilton will join the Maranello team for the 2025 Formula 1 season, following the end of his legendary partnership with Mercedes at the conclusion of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The collaboration between Hamilton and Mercedes has been one of the most successful in Formula 1 history. Over the course of their partnership, Hamilton secured six world championships and 84 race victories, while Mercedes claimed eight constructors’ titles. However, in recent years, their dominance started to wane. The last three seasons saw Mercedes struggle to maintain their position as championship contenders, with Hamilton securing just two victories during this period.

Looking for a fresh challenge, Hamilton has made the decision to switch to Ferrari, a team that has recently shown signs of returning to title contention. The 39-year-old British driver is hopeful that his move to Ferrari will revitalize his career and put him back in the hunt for an eighth world title. Alongside Charles Leclerc, Hamilton will form a formidable driver lineup at the Scuderia, with Carlos Sainz being the driver who will make way for Hamilton in the shock switch.

The big question surrounding Hamilton’s move was when he would actually drive a Ferrari car for the first time. There had been speculation about whether Hamilton would make an appearance behind the wheel of a Ferrari before the pre-season testing in Bahrain in February. Hamilton had initially been set to participate in the post-season Abu Dhabi test, but due to commitments with Mercedes’ sponsors, he missed the opportunity, further delaying his Ferrari debut.

However, it seems that Hamilton’s first taste of Ferrari machinery is now confirmed to happen in late January. Reports indicate that he has already visited the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello for a private meeting with the team. This visit gave him the chance to familiarize himself with some of the key people at Ferrari and begin preparing for his new chapter in Formula 1.

To help him get up to speed, Hamilton will take part in some TPC (Testing of Previous Cars) days at Ferrari’s Fiorano track. These sessions will give him the opportunity to familiarize himself with the car and the team’s operations. Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur confirmed that the sessions are scheduled to take place in January, weather permitting.

Italian publication AutoRacer has reported that Hamilton’s testing sessions are set to occur on January 21 and 22. These dates are now seen as the official starting point for his Ferrari journey, although the team has yet to comment on the details. Hamilton will likely use these two days to acclimate himself to the Ferrari car and begin building a relationship with his new team, paving the way for his official debut in the 2025 season.

The move to Ferrari marks a dramatic new phase in Hamilton’s illustrious career, and with the Scuderia back in contention for titles, the upcoming season is expected to be one of the most exciting of his career. The 2025 season will offer Hamilton a chance to prove that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level in Formula 1 and possibly add an eighth world championship to his already legendary resume.
