Hamilton signing prompts ASTONISHING Ferrari chief rant

Formula 1 icon has launched a scathing critique of a Ferrari executive following the announcement that Lewis Hamilton will be leaving Mercedes to join the Scuderia. After his final race with Mercedes earlier this month, Hamilton confirmed he would be making the switch to Ferrari, with plans to pursue an eighth world championship title.

Hamilton, who had previously dominated the F1 circuit with Mercedes, making history by winning six of his seven world championships with the team, shocked many by deciding to part ways with the Brackley-based squad ahead of the 2024 season. Despite a season full of challenges, including finishing a disappointing seventh in the driver standings, Hamilton’s decision was one that sparked much debate. He struggled to keep up with his younger teammate, George Russell, who outperformed him throughout the year. Hamilton did manage to secure two Grand Prix wins, extending his remarkable total to 105 career victories, but his overall performance was not on par with his usual high standards.

Hamilton’s qualifying form in particular raised eyebrows, as he found himself outqualified by Russell in 19 of the 24 races. Russell also clinched four pole positions, while Hamilton failed to register any pole starts. This marked a significant drop from Hamilton’s typically superior qualifying results in previous seasons.

As Hamilton prepares to join Ferrari for the 2025 season, he will face stiff competition from one of the best qualifiers in F1, Charles Leclerc, who is widely regarded for his speed in qualifying sessions. This has raised concerns among some F1 figures, with one legend in the sport warning Ferrari that they could be making a grave mistake in signing Hamilton. The veteran F1 figure expressed doubts about Hamilton’s ability to thrive in a new team environment, particularly given his struggles in 2024 and the immense pressure of competing alongside Leclerc.

Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes and seek a new challenge with Ferrari has left the F1 world buzzing. While many view his move as a bold step toward an eighth world championship, others question whether Ferrari’s current lineup and performance can provide the platform Hamilton needs to continue his dominance in the sport. The transition from Mercedes, where Hamilton has enjoyed unparalleled success, to Ferrari, a team that has yet to claim a title in recent years, will certainly be a fascinating storyline to follow in the coming seasons.

With Hamilton’s future now under the Ferrari banner, F1 fans eagerly await to see whether the 39-year-old British driver can still contend for the sport’s top honors. His decision to leave Mercedes, coupled with the challenges ahead at Ferrari, will be one of the most scrutinized moves in F1 history.
