Sainz bids farewell to Ferrari in style with two-million-euro Daytona SP3
Carlos Sainz has marked the end of his Ferrari journey in style by purchasing a custom-made Ferrari Daytona SP3.
As he prepares to join Williams Racing in 2025, Sainz decided to indulge in one of Ferrari’s most exclusive creations before his departure.
The Daytona SP3, valued at over €2 million, is a limited-edition supercar with only 599 units produced.
Being a Ferrari driver comes with privileges, including access to the brand’s elite lineup of cars.
The Daytona SP3 boasts an impressive 840 horsepower and has been personalized with Sainz’s racing number, 55, and his nickname, “Smooth Operator.”
Despite speculation, the car was not a gift from Ferrari but a personal purchase by Sainz.
Ferrari did, however, honor Sainz with a special parting gift: the F1-75, the car with which he secured his maiden Formula 1 victory in 2022.
As a final farewell, Sainz drove the F1-75 one last time on Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit, accompanied by his father, rally legend Carlos Sainz Sr., who also had the opportunity to drive on the track.
This purchase signifies Sainz’s fond farewell to Ferrari, where he has spent the past few years showcasing his talent.
The Daytona SP3 serves as a fitting reminder of his time with the iconic brand as he embarks on a new chapter in his racing career with Williams.
