McLaren F1 team announce NEW 2025 signing after major exit

McLaren Racing Secures Alessandro Alunni Bravi for Key Business Role Ahead of 2025 F1 Season

McLaren Racing, the reigning Formula 1 Constructors’ Champions, is already making strategic moves ahead of the 2025 season. Fresh off their triumphant 2024 campaign, where they bested Ferrari and Red Bull for the title, the team has announced the appointment of Alessandro Alunni Bravi as Chief Business Affairs Officer.

The Italian, who recently parted ways with Sauber, will take on this newly created role at McLaren starting February. In an official statement, McLaren outlined that Bravi’s responsibilities will span a wide range of business areas, providing leadership across the team’s operations.

Explaining the rationale behind the appointment, McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown expressed his enthusiasm for Bravi’s arrival, highlighting the Italian’s wealth of experience in motorsport. “I’m delighted to have Alessandro joining us with his extensive expertise and motorsport background,” said Brown. “In addition to managing our legal and driver development functions, he’ll offer invaluable support on professional driver business management matters, racing governance activities, and broader business initiatives across our various racing series. His knowledge and skills will undoubtedly strengthen our operations as we look to build on our recent success.”

The move signals McLaren’s determination to stay ahead in the fiercely competitive Formula 1 landscape. Despite their 2024 triumph, the team is not resting on its laurels. Alongside their focus on car development, the team is bolstering its leadership structure to maintain its competitive edge.

For Bravi, the move to McLaren marks a significant step in his career and a deeply personal moment. Speaking about his new role, he shared his excitement about joining the iconic team. “McLaren is a team I’ve admired my entire life, so this opportunity sparks special emotions for me,” said Bravi. “I’m incredibly grateful to join such a great organisation with clear values and a strong culture. I aim to repay the trust Zak and the board have placed in me by dedicating myself fully to contributing to the team’s ongoing success. Teamwork is the cornerstone of everything, and I’m thrilled to work with such an amazing group of people.”

Bravi emphasized McLaren’s status as a benchmark in Formula 1, both on and off the track. “This team truly sets the standard in the sport, and I can’t wait to get started in February,” he added.

McLaren enters 2025 with high expectations. In 2024, the team not only secured the Constructors’ Championship but also came close to challenging for the Drivers’ title. Lando Norris delivered a strong campaign, pushing Max Verstappen throughout the season. However, the Dutchman ultimately clinched his fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Looking ahead, McLaren will aim to build on their momentum, not just defending their Constructors’ title but also mounting a more robust challenge for the Drivers’ crown. With Bravi’s addition to their leadership team, they are positioning themselves for continued success.

As McLaren prepares to welcome Bravi in February, the team’s commitment to excellence remains evident. The papaya squad has its sights firmly set on dominating both the track and the business aspects of the sport, ensuring they remain a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season.
