BREAKING: Alpine F1 Confirms the Release of Jack Doohan Amid…read more

Alpine F1 has officially confirmed the departure of rising star Jack Doohan just days before the Australian Grand Prix. The announcement ends months of speculation regarding the young driver’s future within the team and marks a surprising twist in the 2025 Formula 1 season.

Doohan, the 22-year-old Australian talent and son of MotoGP legend Mick Doohan, joined Alpine’s development program in 2022 and made his Formula 1 debut in 2024. Despite showing flashes of potential, his tenure with the team has been overshadowed by inconsistent performances and the team’s struggles to deliver a competitive car.

In a statement, Alpine thanked Doohan for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors. “Jack has been an integral part of our team, and we’re proud of his journey from our academy to Formula 1. We believe this decision is in the best interest of both parties as we focus on our long-term goals,” the team said.

Doohan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete in F1 but hinted at pursuing new opportunities. “I’m incredibly thankful to Alpine for believing in me and giving me my first shot in Formula 1,” he said. “While this chapter is closing, I’m excited about what the future holds and determined to continue my racing career at the highest level.”

The decision to part ways with Doohan comes amid reports that Alpine is restructuring its driver lineup to focus on more experienced talent. Rumors are already swirling about who will fill the vacant seat, with several established drivers and promising rookies linked to the team.

As the Australian Grand Prix approaches, the timing of the announcement has raised eyebrows, particularly given Doohan’s popularity with local fans. However, his supporters remain hopeful that this setback will be a stepping stone to greater opportunities in motorsport.

The spotlight now shifts to Alpine’s next move and Doohan’s plans for the future as the Formula 1 paddock prepares for the first race of the season.
