Health Update Issued Following Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Test Crash in Barcelona

A health update has been released following Lewis Hamilton’s crash during Ferrari’s private test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion was taking part in his first on-track sessions with Ferrari when he lost control of the SF-23 and hit the barriers, causing significant delays to the team’s testing program.

Despite the impact, reports confirm that Hamilton was uninjured in the crash and is in good health. Ferrari has assured that he did not suffer any physical issues and remains fit to continue testing once the car is repaired. The incident occurred as part of Ferrari’s Testing of Previous Car (TPC) program, which allows teams to run cars that are at least two years old, with a total limit of 1,000 kilometers. Hamilton and his new teammate, Charles Leclerc, had been scheduled to share the 2023-spec SF-23 over the course of the test.

However, Ferrari’s plans were disrupted when Hamilton’s crash required significant repairs, forcing a delay in Leclerc’s scheduled track time. The team has since worked to fix the damage and resume their testing schedule as soon as possible.

Hamilton’s on-track sessions with Ferrari have been highly anticipated, marking the first time he has driven for the Italian team since his sensational move from Mercedes. While the crash was an unfortunate setback, Ferrari remains focused on gathering valuable data ahead of the 2025 season.

With Hamilton confirmed to be unharmed, attention now turns to the remainder of the test, where both he and Leclerc will continue working on adapting to the car and fine-tuning performance.
