Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes’ latest sensation, is set to make his Formula 1 debut at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, stepping into the shoes of the legendary Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion and a towering figure in the sport, even left Antonelli a heartfelt message inside the Mercedes team truck, a gesture that left the young driver feeling both honored and inspired.
“I’m really looking forward to reading it,” Antonelli said. “I think it was extremely kind of him. Honestly, I still can’t believe I’m going to be sharing the grid with him next year.”
With a mentor like Hamilton and a golden opportunity at Mercedes, Antonelli has a lot to prove as he prepares for his debut season. However, the bigger question remains—can Mercedes return to the front of the grid in 2025?
