Bahrain Grand Prix 2025: Start Time, TV Coverage, and What to Expect from Today’s Race
The 2025 Formula 1 season continues today, Sunday, April 13, with the fourth round taking place at the Bahrain International Circuit. Set to begin at 6:00 PM local time (AST), the Bahrain Grand Prix promises high-octane action under the lights as the world’s best drivers return to the track they know well from pre-season testing.
This year’s Bahrain GP carries extra excitement, especially for McLaren fans. The team is looking strong at what is effectively a home race, thanks to their Bahraini ownership. Oscar Piastri has taken pole position, giving the team a golden opportunity for victory. His teammate Lando Norris, as well as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, will have to work their way up the field after qualifying lower than expected. Verstappen enters the race off the back of his first win of the season and remains a strong contender despite his starting position.
Ferrari also finds itself in a promising position. Charles Leclerc has been bumped up to second on the grid after George Russell of Mercedes received a one-place grid penalty. That same penalty also affected Russell’s teammate, young Italian driver Kimi Antonelli, who will now start the race from fifth place following a significant qualifying mishap by the team.
Lewis Hamilton, now driving for Ferrari, holds the record for most wins at this circuit, with five previous victories. Despite showing some promise with a sprint win in China earlier this season, Hamilton is still searching for a return to full race-winning form. Today could present a chance for a breakthrough, but he’ll have tough competition from both within his team and across the grid.
