Lando Norris Reveals Support from Sebastian Vettel over….read more

Lando Norris has opened up about the support he’s received from four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, as he chases his first-ever F1 title in the 2025 season. Despite currently leading the drivers’ standings after four races, Norris has admitted that his journey so far has been far from smooth.

The McLaren driver sits at the top of the leaderboard, holding a narrow three-point advantage over his teammate Oscar Piastri. However, while Norris has displayed consistency, Piastri has shown outright speed, already securing two victories out of the first four Grands Prix. This has added pressure on Norris, who has yet to win a race this season.

Norris’s toughest outing so far came in the season opener at the Bahrain Grand Prix. There, he qualified only sixth and struggled throughout the race, ultimately crossing the line in third place behind Mercedes driver George Russell. It was a frustrating result for Norris, especially given the high expectations surrounding McLaren this year.

The Briton has been candid about his difficulties adapting to the handling of the 2025 McLaren. While the car has pace, Norris has found it challenging to fully unlock its potential. His openness and honesty about these struggles have sparked conversations within the F1 community, with some questioning whether Norris is being too transparent for his own good.

In the lead-up to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel publicly praised Norris for his authenticity. Speaking to the media, Vettel called Norris a “real role model” for being honest about the mental and physical challenges he’s faced this season.

When asked about Vettel’s supportive comments during a press conference in Jeddah, Norris expressed heartfelt appreciation for the retired champion’s encouragement. He revealed that the two have been in regular contact, with Vettel frequently reaching out during tough moments.

“I saw what Seb said. Me and Seb talk every now and again. He texts me—always in times when I probably need it the most,” Norris shared. “I really love Seb. He’s always helping me and texting me and sending me little notes that I appreciate a lot. Especially from someone like him. I think it definitely means something.”

The 25-year-old added that having Vettel’s guidance has been invaluable, not just because of Vettel’s legendary career, but also due to the personal respect he holds for him. Vettel, who retired at the end of the 2022 season, has become a respected figure off-track, often praised for his mentorship and activism.

As Norris navigates the challenges of the current F1 campaign, his bond with Vettel has become a source of strength. While his performances have been solid, the pressure to secure a first Grand Prix victory—and ultimately a world title—remains high. With Vettel in his corner, Norris appears better equipped to handle both the expectations and the emotional toll that come with being a title contender.
