F1 Update:Miami Grand Prix 2025: Qualifying Time, How to Watch Live, and Key Storylines Ahead of t…read more

Qualifying for the 2025 Miami Grand Prix takes center stage today, Saturday, May 3, following a fast-paced start to the race weekend. Held at the vibrant Miami International Autodrome, the event is part of a sprint weekend format, meaning drivers have already faced two competitive sessions and just one practice run before they line up for qualifying.

Reigning World Champion Max Verstappen will aim to secure his third pole position in the last four Grands Prix, as he continues to hunt down the early-season pace-setter, Oscar Piastri. The McLaren driver currently leads the drivers’ standings, with Verstappen and his team-mate Lando Norris in close pursuit. However, Norris has struggled in qualifying lately and will need to overcome those issues if he’s to take his first win since the season-opener in Australia.

Interestingly, Norris returns to Miami as the defending winner—his 2024 victory at this very circuit marked his maiden Formula 1 triumph. The British driver will be hoping to rediscover that form and boost his title chances with a strong performance today.

Another high-profile driver looking for redemption is Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion has had a rough start to his 2025 campaign, having been outqualified in four out of five races by his Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc. Hamilton currently sits seventh in the standings and will be desperate for a breakthrough in Miami to reignite his season.
