Breaking:Piastri Takes Victory in Miami as FIA Confirms Final Results with Penalties Applied…read more

The FIA has released the final standings of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix after a dramatic race weekend that saw McLaren’s Oscar Piastri secure his third straight Formula 1 victory.
Piastri delivered another commanding performance, showcasing his growing dominance by outpacing his teammate Lando Norris and key rivals like Mercedes’ George Russell and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Starting from pole position, Verstappen once again couldn’t convert the advantage into a win — continuing Miami’s unique streak where no pole-sitter has ever taken victory at the venue.
Verstappen’s lead was challenged on lap 14 when Piastri executed a clever move, forcing the Dutchman into a late braking maneuver that cost him valuable track position. Verstappen expressed his frustration after the race, as did Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, whose afternoon was filled with tension due to indecision from his team on race strategy.
Hamilton found himself in a battle of positions with teammate Charles Leclerc, with Ferrari initially ordering a position swap before reversing the decision later. The back-and-forth created confusion, and Hamilton voiced his anger over the radio, sarcastically asking, “Shall I let him past as well?” The two eventually finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with Hamilton just ahead of former Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz.
Williams driver Alex Albon impressed by finishing fifth, ahead of Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli in sixth. Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda rounded out the top 10, just ahead of Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar. The midfield was as competitive as ever, with Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, and Nico Hulkenberg all crossing the line within a lap of the leader.
There were four retirements from the race: Jack Doohan (Alpine), Ollie Bearman (Haas), Gabriel Bortoleto (Kick Sauber), and Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) all failed to finish, adding to the unpredictability of the afternoon.

Lando Norris clocked the fastest lap of the race on lap 36 with a time of 1:29.746. However, due to a regulation change introduced for the 2025 season, the extra championship point for fastest lap has been removed. The rule, which was in place since 2019, often led to drivers pitting late in the race purely to chase the point — a strategy that famously played a key role in the 2024 season when Daniel Ricciardo secured the fastest lap in his final race to aid Verstappen’s title run.
With the new rule, the focus remains firmly on overall race performance rather than tactical point stealing, adding a new dynamic to race strategies in 2025.
