Ferrari duo urged to unite as team battles poor form in 2025 season
Charles Leclerc has called on new teammate Lewis Hamilton to unite in an effort to drag Ferrari out of its ongoing Formula 1 slump, after the team endured another dismal weekend at the Miami Grand Prix.
Following another difficult outing at the Miami Grand Prixwhere both drivers finished behind Williams’ Alex Albon in seventh and eighth—Ferrari finds itself fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, trailing leaders McLaren by a staggering 152 points. Aside from Hamilton’s sprint win in China, the team has struggled to match the pace of its rivals, including a dominant McLaren squad that finished 57 seconds ahead in Miami.
Speaking to media after the race, Leclerc was blunt in his assessment of Ferrari’s current form and called for a united effort to address the issues.
“We both know it wasn’t the Sunday we wanted,” Leclerc said. “Even if everything had gone perfectly, we might’ve finished just ahead of Kimi \[Antonelli], but that’s about it. The rest comes down to the car’s lack of performance.”
He emphasized that while small errors may have cost them a place or two, the fundamental problem lies with the SF-25 itself. “The majority of our deficit is due to the car, and that’s what we need to improve.”
Looking ahead, Leclerc hinted at potential upgrades in the pipeline but remained cautious in his optimism. “I don’t know when they’re coming—nothing official yet. I may have already said too much. But hopefully, when they arrive, they’ll help us take a step forward.”
With pressure mounting, Leclerc’s remarks underline the urgency within Ferrari to regroup and find answers—starting with a stronger partnership between its two star drivers.
