Red Bull Hails Yuki Tsunoda’s Composure Alongside…read more

Red Bull Racing has offered high praise for their newest addition, Yuki Tsunoda, as he begins his journey with the senior team. After stepping up from the sister team, Racing Bulls, Tsunoda is already showing he has what it takes to handle the heat – especially alongside reigning world champion Max Verstappen.

The move came at the Japanese Grand Prix last month, marking a significant moment in Tsunoda’s career. It was a homecoming in more ways than one – not only racing in front of his passionate home crowd but finally securing the long-coveted seat at Red Bull Racing. Many had assumed the door to the senior team had been closed after Tsunoda spent multiple seasons with the junior outfit, but Red Bull had other plans.

In a sport where driver pairings can often be lopsided, the pressure of partnering with Max Verstappen – a three-time world champion and one of the most dominant forces on the grid – cannot be overstated. For many, this scenario would be intimidating. But Tsunoda has taken it in stride.

Paul Monaghan, Red Bull’s Chief Engineer, was quick to commend the Japanese driver. “Yuki is settling in really well,” Monaghan said. “He’s a good member of the team, open to learning, and bringing a fresh energy. What’s impressive is how he’s handling the situation – not many drivers can step into Max’s garage and not feel overwhelmed. Yuki’s doing just fine.”

The decision to bring Tsunoda into the main Red Bull fold came after months of speculation and performance evaluations. Liam Lawson, who had stepped in temporarily for Racing Bulls, was sent back down the ranks. While Lawson showed promise, Tsunoda’s experience and maturity, coupled with his impressive performances in early 2025, sealed the deal.

Red Bull’s trust in Tsunoda is also a testament to his personal growth. Early in his F1 career, he was known for his fiery temper and unpredictable radio outbursts. But in recent seasons, he has matured both on and off the track, earning a reputation as a hardworking, no-nonsense racer. His dedication has paid off – and now he finds himself racing at the pinnacle of motorsport, with the backing of one of the most dominant teams in Formula 1 history.

Fans have taken note as well. Tsunoda’s popularity is surging, especially in Asia, where he’s seen as a trailblazer for Japanese talent in F1. His social media engagement has spiked, and Red Bull’s branding efforts in Japan have gained a major boost thanks to his promotion.

While the season is still young, the signs are promising. Tsunoda has been quick to adapt to the RB21, showing solid pace in qualifying and consistency during race weekends. Though Verstappen continues to set the benchmark, Tsunoda is closing the gap with every session – learning, evolving, and showing he’s not just there to fill a seat.

The internal atmosphere at Red Bull also seems harmonious, with Tsunoda fitting in seamlessly with the engineering team and support crew. According to insiders, his positive attitude and open communication have made him a favorite in the garage already.

Looking ahead, the focus will be on whether Tsunoda can keep up the momentum and deliver podium-worthy performances. Red Bull is watching closely, and fans around the world are eager to see if he can become more than just a reliable number two. Can he challenge Verstappen? That remains to be seen. But one thing is clear – Tsunoda is no longer the rookie trying to prove himself. He’s a Red Bull Racing driver now, and he’s here to stay.
