Hamilton Discusses Progress Integrating into Ferrari…read more

Lewis Hamilton has shared insights into his adaptation to life at Ferrari, expressing gratitude for the team’s support during his transition, even as he continues to navigate a challenging start to the 2025 Formula 1 season.

The seven-time world champion made a high-profile move from Mercedes to Ferrari for this season, ending a long and successful partnership with the Silver Arrows. Since joining the iconic Italian outfit, Hamilton has encountered a mix of results as he seeks to find consistent performance behind the wheel of the SF-25.

While the Briton acknowledged the bumpy beginning to his campaign, he emphasized how welcoming and dedicated the Ferrari team has been since his arrival. He credited the Maranello-based squad for working tirelessly to ease his integration into a new environment and helping him adapt to the unique demands of the SF-25.

Hamilton’s early performances in the red car were underwhelming, particularly in Australia, where he struggled to match the pace of his rivals. Despite showing flashes of speed, he couldn’t convert them into a strong result, leaving many to question how long it would take before he found his rhythm with the Scuderia.

However, the veteran driver delivered a statement of intent in Shanghai, where he clinched pole position for the sprint race. In a dominant display, he led from the front and took a commanding victory over the short 19-lap contest. That performance briefly silenced doubts about his competitiveness, showcasing the potential of both driver and machine when things come together.

Yet consistency proved elusive. At the next race in Suzuka, Hamilton encountered more difficulties. He was off the pace in qualifying and struggled with tyre degradation throughout the weekend. These issues prevented him from mounting a serious challenge and underlined the ongoing development work needed with the car and his driving approach.

In Bahrain, Hamilton seemed to take a step forward. While his qualifying result was disappointing—managing only ninth after a less-than-perfect final session—his race performance told a more positive story. Executing a clever offset tyre strategy, Hamilton worked his way through the field with a series of well-judged overtakes to finish fifth. It marked one of his more encouraging performances of the year, highlighting his ability to maximize race pace when the conditions allowed.

The most recent outing in Miami offered further signs of progress. Despite Ferrari struggling overall for outright pace compared to its front-running competitors, Hamilton displayed clear improvement in both qualifying and race pace. His tyre management, an area that had previously caused concern, appeared more refined, allowing him to extract more performance over longer stints.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Hamilton remains optimistic. He acknowledged that switching teams after such a long tenure with Mercedes was always going to involve a learning curve, especially given Ferrari’s different engineering philosophy and race culture. Still, he remains motivated and encouraged by the team’s willingness to collaborate and innovate.

“It’s been a challenge, no doubt,” Hamilton said in a recent interview. “But the team has done everything they can to help me settle in, and I’m incredibly grateful for their support. We’re still learning a lot every weekend, but we’re heading in the right direction.”

As the season progresses, Hamilton is hoping to build on these recent improvements and become a more consistent contender. With the Ferrari SF-25 still undergoing development, and Hamilton continuing to fine-tune his driving style to suit it, there’s optimism that better results lie ahead.

Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how the partnership evolves. While the road to championship contention may still be long, Hamilton’s integration into Ferrari appears to be gaining momentum—offering hope that this new chapter in his legendary career will deliver success.
