Ferrari Provides Health Update on Charles Leclerc After Absence A …read more

Ferrari has issued an official health update on Charles Leclerc after the Formula 1 driver was notably absent from Thursday’s media duties at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. The team confirmed that Leclerc is currently unwell and will be skipping the day’s scheduled activities to rest and recover. Despite his absence from the paddock, Ferrari remains optimistic that he will be fit to return for Friday’s practice sessions.

“Charles is feeling unwell and will not be coming to the track today. He will rest and focus on recovering and we expect him to be in the car tomorrow,” Ferrari said in a statement. The news comes at a critical time, as Imola marks Ferrari’s first home race of the 2025 Formula 1 season, adding to the significance of the weekend for both the team and its fans.

Leclerc’s sudden illness has sparked concern among supporters, especially given his pivotal role in Ferrari’s campaign. Currently fifth in the Drivers’ Championship, the Monegasque driver has had a mixed start to the season, with a best finish of third place at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Ferrari is hopeful that this weekend could be a turning point as they aim for a strong result on home soil.

In the event that Leclerc is unable to compete, Ferrari has confirmed that reserve driver Guanyu Zhou is on standby and ready to step in if necessary. The team is closely monitoring Leclerc’s condition and will make further assessments ahead of Friday’s sessions.

The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend is set to continue with free practice sessions on Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and the main race on Sunday. Ferrari and fans alike will be hoping for Leclerc’s swift recovery and participation.
