The official starting lineup for the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola has been confirmed, following multiple penalties that reshuffled the grid after qualifying. Oscar Piastri will lead the field from pole position after an impressive lap of 1:14.670, narrowly beating Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by just 0.034 seconds. Mercedes’ George Russell and McLaren’s Lando Norris will start from the second row, while Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso begins from fifth.
Ferrari’s weekend took a hit during qualifying, with both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton being knocked out in Q2. The two drivers will start 11th and 12th respectively at Ferrari’s home race, intensifying pressure on the team to deliver on Sunday.
Among the notable penalties, Alpine’s Franco Colapinto was hit with a one-place grid drop for improperly entering the pit lane’s fast lane under red flag conditions. He will start 16th. Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda, who suffered a dramatic crash in Q1, failed to set a lap time and will start from the back of the grid.
