Liverpool and Arsenal are in a race for a star.
If Liverpool decides to trade Mohamed Salah to Saudi Arabia, it is said that they will be trying to replace him with Pedro Neto, a player who is wanted by Arsenal and plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Egyptian has been strongly rumored to be leaving Anfield in recent months. Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia indicated interest in acquiring him during the just-completed summer transfer season and even put forward an initial offer of about £150 million.
Liverpool chose to turn down that offer because they were desperate to hold onto their star player, and they ultimately succeeded in keeping him at the club.
If Liverpool decides to trade Salah, it appears they have already begun to look into the market for a new winger to perhaps take his position. Recently, Jarrod Bowen and Nico Williams have both been mentioned in connection with this. However, Neto is suddenly becoming a significant focus.
The Merseyside club is reportedly unwilling to match the high asking amount Wolves are reportedly seeking for their top player.
According to Football Transfers, if the Reds make a move for Neto after selling Salah, Wolves may up their asking price for the Portuguese player by at least £20 million.
