Ferrari Names Lewis Hamilton’s Replacement for Monaco Grand Prix A…read more

Ferrari has officially named the driver who will replace Lewis Hamilton for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, following weeks of speculation. While Hamilton’s historic move to Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025 season has been confirmed, contractual obligations with Mercedes prevent him from driving for the Italian team until next year. With Monaco being one of the crown jewels of the Formula 1 calendar, Ferrari was under pressure to fill the seat with a capable substitute.

In a surprise but calculated move, Ferrari has tapped Oliver Bearman, their rising star from the Ferrari Driver Academy, to step in for the prestigious race weekend. The 19-year-old British driver made headlines earlier this season after an impressive stand-in performance for Ferrari in Saudi Arabia, where he scored points on debut and earned praise from the paddock.

Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur expressed full confidence in Bearman’s abilities, saying, “Oliver has proven himself to be a mature and composed driver under pressure. Monaco is a demanding circuit, but we believe he’s ready for the challenge and has earned this opportunity.”

The decision to bring in Bearman is not only strategic but also symbolic, signaling Ferrari’s commitment to developing homegrown talent. While he will not be a permanent replacement for Hamilton — who is expected to make his full-time Ferrari debut at the start of the 2026 season — Bearman’s participation gives him invaluable experience at the highest level.

With Ferrari currently in a tight battle with Red Bull and McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship, all eyes will be on Bearman to see if he can hold his own on the unforgiving streets of Monte Carlo. One thing is certain: the Monaco Grand Prix just got even more exciting.
