Lewis Hamilton Storms Up Rich List After £385 Million Reveal
Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has made a remarkable leap in The Sunday Times Rich List 2025, surpassing several global celebrities with a reported fortune of £385 million.
The 40-year-old’s high-profile switch to Ferrari this season has further elevated his global status, with his new contract earning him an estimated £50 million annually. In addition to his racing salary, Hamilton has secured lucrative ambassadorial deals with premium brands including Lululemon and Dior.
Hamilton’s wealth surged by £35 million over the past year, propelling him to 324th on the prestigious list. This ascent places him ahead of Grammy-winning artist Ed Sheeran and A-list celebrities such as Charlotte Tilbury and Ellen DeGeneres—the latter two appearing on the list for the first time.
Who Topped the Rich List in 2025?
Compiling this year’s list proved especially challenging due to ongoing stock market volatility and trade tariffs introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Nevertheless, for the fourth consecutive year, the Hinduja family claimed the top spot with an estimated fortune of £35 billion.
Brothers David and Simon Reuben, co-owners of Newcastle United FC, followed in second place with nearly £27 billion, while Leonard Blavatnik, owner of sports streaming platform DAZN, rounded out the top three with £25 billion.
Other notable entries include former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, ranked 81st with £2 billion, marking an increase in his wealth. Music legend Paul McCartney remains the richest musician in the UK with a fortune exceeding £1 billion, having made history in 2024 as the first UK artist to become a billionaire.
In a surprising twist, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty ranked higher than King Charles III, with the couple’s combined wealth reaching £640 million—Sunak placed just ahead of the monarch on the lists
