Lewis Hamilton CRASH sparks La…read more

Lewis Hamilton’s hopes of a strong qualifying performance at the Monaco Grand Prix are in serious doubt following a crash during the final practice session on the tight and unforgiving streets of Monte Carlo. The seven-time world champion lost control of his Ferrari in the closing minutes of FP3, slamming into the barriers and triggering a red flag, bringing the session to a premature end.

The incident occurred as Hamilton approached a corner, brushing the outside wall with the front-left wheel of his car. This initial contact destabilized the vehicle, causing it to slide uncontrollably across the narrow street circuit before hitting the barriers on the opposite side. The impact was enough to damage the front suspension, leaving his Ferrari stranded and in need of recovery.

The red flag was promptly waved, freezing the session as marshals worked to clear the wreckage. Hamilton, although physically unharmed, looked visibly frustrated as he climbed out of the cockpit. After briefly inspecting the damage and retrieving a personal item from the car, he walked away quickly, his disappointment evident.

Hamilton’s radio message to the team reflected his frustration: “S***! Guys, I hit the wall. Damn, sorry guys.” The apology was a clear sign of how much the mistake stung, especially given the high stakes in Monaco where qualifying position is critical due to the difficulty of overtaking on the narrow track.

With only a short time between the end of the practice session and the start of qualifying, Hamilton’s crew faces a race against the clock to repair the car and get him back out on the circuit. The Monaco Grand Prix is notorious for its emphasis on qualifying performance, as track position is often more important here than at any other venue on the calendar. Starting from the back or missing qualifying altogether could seriously damage Hamilton’s chances of a strong result this weekend.

This crash adds to a string of frustrations for Hamilton, who has faced challenges adapting to the Ferrari car since his high-profile switch from Mercedes. Though he has shown flashes of pace throughout the season, incidents like this have prevented him from building consistent momentum.

As the paddock waits to see if the Ferrari mechanics can pull off a rapid repair job, fans are left wondering whether Hamilton will be able to bounce back in time for qualifying—or if this crash will mark another setback in a season full of ups and downs for the British driver.
