Lewis Hamilton has been dramatically disqualified from the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix after the FIA issued a severe post-race penalty, citing a serious breach of technical regulations.
The seven-time world champion, who had initially finished inside the points at the prestigious street circuit, was removed from the final classification following a detailed inspection of his Mercedes. According to the FIA’s official report, Hamilton’s car was found to be in violation of Article X.X of the 2025 Formula 1 Technical Regulations, relating to [insert infraction – e.g., floor plank wear, fuel irregularity, or aerodynamic component].
In a formal statement, the FIA said:
“Following post-race scrutineering, Car #44 was found to be non-compliant with the technical regulations. As a result, the stewards have ruled that the driver is disqualified from the Monaco Grand Prix.”
The penalty deals a major blow to Hamilton’s championship campaign, erasing his hard-fought points from the weekend and significantly affecting Mercedes’ position in the Constructors’ standings.
Mercedes has acknowledged the ruling and is currently reviewing the possibility of appealing the decision.
“We’re disappointed by the outcome but respect the FIA’s process,” a team spokesperson said. “We’ll evaluate all available options moving forward.”
The updated race results have been published, with promoted into the points as a result of Hamilton’s exclusion.
