Shea Langeliers, catcher for the Athletics, receives the notorious Golden Sombrero

The Athletics managed to find some success against Tigers’ starter Tarik Skubal, scoring four runs on four hits off the young left-handed pitcher. Skubal, who is considered a dark horse candidate for the AL Cy Young award this season, faced a bit of challenge from the A’s lineup, which is an encouraging sign for them.

Despite the runs conceded, Skubal showcased his prowess by recording nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings, while the Tigers bullpen delivered 2.2 scoreless innings to secure the victory.

On the other hand, Athletics’ starter JP Sears struggled for the second consecutive outing, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing four runs on six hits and a walk, with just one strikeout. With this performance, Sears managed to slightly lower his ERA to 8.68.
