BREAKING: FIA officially Announced yet another T…read more.
In a move that continues to shape the landscape of Formula 1, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has announced yet another revision to its technical directives for the 2025 season. This latest update marks the third major adjustment in recent months, as the governing body seeks to refine regulations to improve safety, competitiveness, and sustainability within the sport.
The updated directive, issued on Tuesday, focuses on aerodynamic regulations, power unit limitations, and stricter compliance monitoring. According to the FIA, these changes aim to close performance gaps between teams and reduce the growing concerns about excessive costs and complex loopholes being exploited by top constructors.
Teams will now face tighter restrictions on floor designs and wind tunnel testing allocations, with new metrics introduced to monitor real-time data compliance. Additionally, updated battery efficiency requirements have been introduced to align with the FIA’s long-term sustainability goals, especially as Formula 1 continues to push towards a net-zero carbon footprint by 2030.
While some teams have welcomed the changes as a step toward fairer racing, others have expressed concerns about the timing and the potential need to make late design modifications to their 2025 cars.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem stated, “These updates reflect our ongoing dialogue with teams and stakeholders to ensure F1 remains at the forefront of technological innovation while maintaining a level playing field.”
The directive is expected to be formally integrated into the 2025 regulations following feedback from teams during the upcoming technical working group meetings.
