Lando Norris Reveals British Regret Following FIA Dis…read more

In a moment of raw honesty, McLaren driver Lando Norris has expressed deep regret following his recent disqualification by the FIA, which came during a crucial weekend for British motorsport. The penalty, which shocked fans and analysts alike, has cast a shadow over what was expected to be a standout performance from the young Briton on home soil.

The FIA’s decision was based on a technical infringement that breached regulations, ultimately stripping Norris of his hard-earned result. Though the team accepted the ruling, Norris has now come forward to share how the moment stung on a personal level—particularly given the emotional weight of racing in front of a home crowd at Silverstone.

“It hurts more because it was here,” Norris admitted. “Racing in front of your home fans is something every driver dreams of. To have that taken away—especially in that way—just leaves a bad taste. I feel like I let them down, even though it wasn’t something I had control over.”

The disqualification has raised concerns within McLaren, who have since pledged to work closely with the FIA to ensure full compliance with all technical standards moving forward. Team Principal Andrea Stella acknowledged the disappointment but reinforced his support for Norris, stating, “Lando drove brilliantly. What happened is unfortunate, and we take responsibility as a team.”

With the season entering a critical phase, Norris now aims to channel his frustration into results. “I can’t change the past,” he said. “But I can respond on track. That’s what I owe the fans, and that’s what I’m focused on now.”
