Lewis Hamilton Reveals Pain After Monza Battle as Ferrari Confirm New Signing

Ferrari have released behind-the-scenes footage showing Lewis Hamilton admitting that he raced through significant physical pain during last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion put on a determined display at Monza, but later confessed that his intense effort on track took a toll on his body.

Hamilton, who joined Ferrari this season in what many described as one of the most sensational moves in modern Formula 1, returned to Italy for the team’s home race surrounded by the passion of the tifosi. Before the race weekend, he appeared at a packed event in Milan where thousands of Ferrari supporters gathered to welcome him. The energy was electric, but it also added pressure on the 40-year-old to deliver at one of the sport’s most iconic circuits.

Unfortunately for Hamilton, his task was complicated before the race even began. A five-place grid penalty from the previous round in Zandvoort meant that even after qualifying in fifth position on Saturday, he was forced to line up only 10th on the grid for Sunday’s race. Starting from the midfield at Monza is always a challenge, and Hamilton knew he had a tough afternoon ahead of him.

Despite this setback, the British driver fought hard throughout the 53-lap contest. He carved his way forward, ultimately making up four places to cross the finish line in sixth. While it was not the podium finish that Ferrari fans had been dreaming of, Hamilton’s gritty drive did not go unnoticed. However, as revealed in Ferrari’s official social media video, that fight came at a painful cost.

In the post-race footage shared from inside the Ferrari garage, Hamilton is seen speaking candidly about the effort he had to put in behind the wheel. Gesturing towards the right-hand side of his lower body, he admitted: “I couldn’t push the pedal any further. Maximum! I have pain here because I was pushing, pushing so hard. If the pedals bent, you know why.” His remarks underscored just how physically demanding the race had been, with every ounce of energy poured into extracting performance from his Ferrari machine.

Despite giving everything, Hamilton’s penalty once again hampered his hopes of closing the gap in the drivers’ championship. His teammate Charles Leclerc finished ahead, meaning Hamilton now trails the Monegasque by 46 points in the standings. After Monza, Hamilton remains in sixth place overall, leaving him with plenty of work to do if he hopes to climb higher before the season ends.

For Ferrari fans, though, Hamilton’s effort was enough to earn their admiration. The tifosi are known for their passionate support, but also for being demanding when it comes to performances from their drivers. Many at Monza acknowledged Hamilton’s determination and willingness to push himself to the limit for the team, even if the final result was not what they had hoped for.

Adding to the weekend’s drama, Ferrari also confirmed a new signing as part of their ongoing efforts to strengthen the team both on and off the track. While details are still emerging about the latest addition, the announcement reflects Ferrari’s intent to prepare for the future while continuing to back their current stars.

For Hamilton, the Italian Grand Prix will go down as a race where pain and pressure collided. Though the points haul was modest, the fight he displayed sent a powerful message: he is ready to endure whatever it takes to succeed in red. With several rounds still left in the 2025 season, the story of Hamilton’s first year at Ferrari continues to unfold — and the tifosi will be watching closely as he battles for redemption and respect.
