Lewis Hamilton has spoken candidly about his Formula 1 future, reflecting on the immense challenges of his debut season with Ferrari and the personal adjustments he has had to make along the way. With only seven races left on the calendar, Hamilton admitted that the opening half of the campaign has been far from what he envisioned. The Briton has battled not only the performance issues of Ferrari’s car but also the weight of carrying the famous Scuderia badge, something he says brought him to a breaking point earlier this summer. His frustration boiled over at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where Hamilton stunned many by suggesting over team radio that Ferrari should consider sacking him — an emotional outburst that highlighted the depth of his struggle. For me, it’s about finding that love for racing again.”
Despite his improved outlook, results on track have remained elusive. However, unlike earlier in the season, he has stopped publicly criticizing himself or the team, instead stressing the need for patience and positivity as Ferrari prepares for its long-term project leading into the 2026 regulation changes.
“I’ve always dreamed of driving for Ferrari,” Hamilton continued. “That dream has come true, but the pressure and the expectations sometimes made it difficult to appreciate the moment. Now it’s about clearing away the distractions and focusing purely on why we’re here: to race, to compete, and to love what we do. That’s what I want to get back to.”
