Twenty years ago, Everton created one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history in Wayne Rooney. Since then, the academy has had some modest triumphs, but no striker has been as deadly as the former England captain.

However, Everton’s development prospects do appear promising, and young striker George Morgan has just been identified as a wonderkid to watch out for by The Guardian.

The 17-year-old, who has received four under-18 caps, was born in Milton Keynes but is of Welsh descent.

The teenager has a physical presence akin to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who Morgan has identified as one of his heroes, at 1.83m tall, but he also has devastating speed.

The Guardian called him “fast,” and they also drew attention to similarities to Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.

With his combination of precise finishing, quickness, and clever movement, the 35-year-old established himself at Bayern Munich during the previous ten years as one of the best attackers of his generation, proving devastating both at home and in Europe. He also provided a physical presence at the same time.
