Nouvelles importantes : l’Olympique Lyonnais a signé un remplacement pour…
Former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay marked his debut for Lyon with a goal in their 4-0 victory over Nancy in Ligue 1 on Wednesday.
The Dutch international began the game on the bench at Parc Olympique Lyonnais but was brought on just five minutes before half-time to replace the injured Mathieu Valbuena.
Depay wasted no time in leaving his mark on the match, winning a penalty in the 54th minute, which Alexandre Lacazette calmly converted to make it 3-0 following goals from Valbuena and Nabil Fekir.
Just five minutes later, Depay netted his first goal for Lyon, firing home with his right foot from the center of the box after being set up by Maxime Gonalons.
His impressive performance off the bench came at a crucial moment, as Depay had faced heavy criticism for a lackluster display in Lyon’s recent derby defeat to Saint-Etienne.
Since joining Lyon from Manchester United in January, Depay has now scored once in four Ligue 1 appearances.
