THE WOLVERINESS QB GOT SUSPENDED FOR THE SEASON FOR REALING A COMMENT ON……
SOUTH BEND, INDIA Free Press columnist Jeff Seidel answers three questions after Notre Dame’s 24-17 victory over Michigan on Saturday night.
How did QB Shea Patterson perform in his Michigan debut?
He wasn’t great. He wasn’t horrible.
He made some plays. And he made some mistakes.
He was, to be blunt, human.
Not the saviour that some fans were expecting, or maybe unrealistically hoping for.
Patterson completed 20-for-30 passes for 227 yards.
He was sacked three times, fumbled once and threw an interception.
He led Michigan into the end zone one time.
“There is more we can do,” Patterson said. “This can be a very good football team.”
I guess it depends on your definition of “very good.”
Shea Patterson reacts after his fourth-quarter fumble sealed Michigan’s 24-17 loss at Notre Dame.
I suspect Michigan will be able to beat bad teams but it seems like a lifetime since the Wolverines have won a game on the road against a ranked team (17 straight losses).
And when you consider they play at Michigan State and at Ohio State, that doesn’t exactly sound promising after this loss.
Seidel: Michigan hasn’t improved and it is Jim Harbaugh’s fault
It’s hard to beat good teams when you can’t run the ball, can’t protect the quarterback and can’t make enough big plays.
The Wolverines don’t have enough playmakers. The loss of wideout Tarik Black certainly didn’t help matters.
