JUST IN: Buffalo is ‘Worst Place You Could Be Wings Ain’t Even Good’ Most Valuable Player Admits………

Tight end Jonnu Smith is fully embracing the rivalry between his new team, the Miami Dolphins, and the Buffalo Bills, as he took aim at the city of Buffalo during a Thursday interview.

In his appearance on the Dive Bar Podcast (via Ryan Talbot of NewYorkUpstate.com), Smith didn’t hold back his disdain for Buffalo, calling it “the worst place you could be.”

He elaborated, saying, “That’s why the fans are so bitter—they wish they could be down here [in Miami]. Have you ever been to Buffalo? Oh man, I don’t know how anyone can stand it. I don’t get how they do it. It’s got to be the worst place you could be.”

Smith didn’t stop there; he took a swipe at Buffalo’s famous chicken wings too, dismissing them as subpar: “And the Buffalo wings aren’t even good. They’re not even good. I’m taking shots at Buffalo.”

At 28 years old, Smith signed a two-year, $8.4 million deal with the Dolphins this offseason after a year with the Atlanta Falcons. However, he’s no stranger to the Bills or the AFC East, having previously played for the New England Patriots from 2021 to 2022, where the Bills defeated the Patriots in both seasons and won the AFC East title each time.

Smith started his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, where he showed promise before signing a four-year, $50 million contract with the Patriots ahead of the 2021 season. Unfortunately, his stint in New England was underwhelming, with just 55 catches for 539 yards and one touchdown over two seasons before he was traded to Atlanta for a seventh-round pick.

Smith did rebound with a strong performance for the Falcons last season, setting career highs with 50 receptions for 582 yards and three touchdowns.

Now with the Dolphins, who have made the playoffs in consecutive years but have been overshadowed by quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills, Smith will look to make an impact. Allen has had a strong record against the Dolphins, with a 10-2 record in regular-season games and a playoff victory.

Last season, despite the Dolphins leading the division at one point, the Bills managed to come back and clinch the AFC East title with a 21-14 win in Week 18.

Smith’s opportunity to prove his worth and back up his comments will come in Week 2, when the Dolphins face the Bills on Thursday Night Football on September 12.
