Brendan Rodgers was delighted with Celtic’s performance as they started their Premiership title defense with a 4-0 win against Kilmarnock.

Goals were scored by Reo Hatate, Liam Scales, Nicolas Kuhn, and Anthony Ralston, with Celtic controlling 82% of possession and potentially scoring even more.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Rodgers expressed his satisfaction, highlighting the team’s coordination and synchronization seen during pre-season.

He noted that their game plan was to use speed and penetrate behind the defense, and despite it being early in the season, their play was exceptional.

Rodgers also praised Kyogo’s performance for effectively utilizing space, which created opportunities for others.

He emphasized the importance of having multiple goal scorers across the team rather than relying on a single striker.

“So the goals throughout the team has always been a mantra for me.

There’s no point in a striker getting 40-odd goals and everyone else not, but across the team it’s important to have goalscorers.”
