A £53 million player who might free up Alexis Mac Allister has recently been linked to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s choice to start Alexis Mac Allister in place of Fabinho has been one of the main narratives of Liverpool’s season thus far.

Alright, so when Liverpool’s stalwart defensive midfield player was unexpectedly traded to Saudi Arabia in the summer, that wasn’t exactly the idea. Still, that’s what actually transpired.

Mac Allister has performed admirably for the Reds ever since. Jurgen Klopp has given the Argentine his full support as he has put himself into the new role.

That shouldn’t, however, imply that Mac Allister is being thought of as a long-term candidate for the job.

The majority of supporters would rather see Liverpool make another run at a player more like to Fabinho—a midfield “destroyer” with expert tackling skills. For example, someone like Joao Palhinha.

However, we believe that some of the latest transfer rumors suggest that this might have been Klopp’s original aim all along. perhaps a diluted form of it. Yes, we are referring about the recently discovered connections to Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich.

Kimmich has played a lot of full-back for Bayern Munich, but now days he’s more of a strong defensive midfielder.

He isn’t a defensive midfielder, though, in the traditional sense of the word. As an alternative, the 28-year-old interprets the role somewhat like Mac Allister does.

With his ability to play with skill and his keen tactical sense, Kimmich seems to be exactly what Klopp had in mind when he moved his No. 10 further back on the field. The distinction is that he is far more skilled defensively and has more experience with it.

Is it unreasonable to suggest that Jurgen is already molding the team in anticipation of Kimmich’s arrival through Mac Allister?

The Germany international may have been targeted by the manager for a transfer at the end of the current campaign. By then, Liverpool’s strategy ought to have advanced sufficiently for Kimmich to start playing right away.

Jurgen has already discussed how the No. 6 position could change to accommodate a player such as Mac Allister. If that’s the strategy he wants to use going forward, Kimmich is the best person to put it into practice.

The Bayern player’s present deal expires in 2025. Thus, there’s a chance he might be signed for less than his rumored £53 million price tag.

He would be a great acquisition if he could be brought in for less. Additionally, it would free up Macca to focus on the tasks for which he was hired. Even if he turns 29 in February, we would still support Kimmich as the Mac Allister surprise guy.
