The Daniel Pitino Golf Classic in honor of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino’s late son has been canceled, Cardinals equipment manager Vinny Tatum announced Thursday in a release.

“It is with deep regret that due to the unforeseen circumstances that arose yesterday, we have decided to cancel this year’s Daniel Pitino Foundation ‘Golf Classic’ & Auction,” the release said. “We will be refunding everyone’s money within the next couple of weeks.
