The plaque marks the birthplace of Stewart, who was born on June 11, 1939, in Dumbartonshire. Installed in 2009, the plaque commemorates Stewart’s achievements and his recognition as a Freeman of West Dunbartonshire.
For Horner, the visit was likely a symbolic moment. Stewart is widely regarded not only as one of Scotland’s greatest sporting figures but also as a pioneer in F1 safety—a subject close to Horner’s heart given his long career managing drivers at the highest level of the sport.
