Breaking: Christian Horner Declares Final Red Bull-Honda Season Will Be One to Remember Following…read more
Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, has promised that the team and its engine partner Honda will “leave no stone unturned” as they aim to conclude their collaboration in 2025 on a triumphant note. The announcement marks the end of a successful partnership that began in 2019 when Red Bull made the bold decision to switch from Renault to Honda as their power unit supplier.
Since the beginning of their collaboration, Red Bull and Honda have achieved remarkable success, including multiple Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships. The partnership reached new heights with Max Verstappen’s dominant performances, helping solidify Red Bull’s reputation as one of the most formidable teams on the Formula 1 grid.
Speaking about the final chapter of their partnership, Horner praised Honda’s contributions and expressed a strong determination to finish on top. “Honda has been an incredible partner for Red Bull. Together, we’ve pushed the boundaries of performance, achieving milestones that seemed unattainable just a few years ago,” Horner said. “As we approach the end of this chapter, our focus is sharper than ever. We’re determined to make 2025 a year to remember, and we will leave no stone unturned in our quest for success.”
Honda, too, remains committed to delivering its best in the final years of the partnership. Koji Watanabe, Honda Racing Corporation president, emphasized the company’s dedication to providing Red Bull with a competitive power unit until the very end. “Our partnership with Red Bull has been a source of immense pride for Honda. We are fully committed to supporting them with the best possible technology to ensure a strong finish to this journey together,” Watanabe stated.
The collaboration between Red Bull and Honda has been characterized by resilience and innovation. After taking on the challenge of providing competitive engines to Red Bull and its sister team, AlphaTauri (formerly Toro Rosso), Honda proved its critics wrong. Their power units have been instrumental in Red Bull’s resurgence as a dominant force in F1, rivaling the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari.
As Red Bull gears up for its transition to using in-house Red Bull Powertrains from 2026 onwards, the team is focused on maintaining its winning momentum. The team’s partnership with Honda will continue to play a critical role in that journey, ensuring they remain at the pinnacle of the sport.
The 2025 season will not only mark the end of the Red Bull-Honda alliance but also the conclusion of Formula 1’s current power unit regulations. With the introduction of new engine rules in 2026, Red Bull aims to build on the solid foundation laid with Honda to remain a competitive force in the new era of F1.
For now, both Red Bull and Honda remain committed to delivering exceptional performances in 2024 and 2025, aiming to solidify their legacy as one of the most successful partnerships in modern Formula 1 history.
