BREAKING: Christian Horner Discusses Red Bull’s Future as H…read more

As Red Bull’s collaboration with Honda approaches its final season in 2025, team principal Christian Horner has reflected on their highly successful partnership while looking ahead to an exciting new era. Since joining forces in 2019, Honda has played a crucial role in Red Bull’s dominance, contributing to four Drivers’ and two Constructors’ Championships.

Although Honda initially exited Formula 1 in 2021, they continued supplying Red Bull with power units under an extended agreement. However, with new sustainability-driven regulations set to take effect in 2026, Honda will officially return as Aston Martin’s works engine partner.

Horner expressed his gratitude for Honda’s support, highlighting their impact on Red Bull’s success. “Together, we’ve secured six world championships and won over 60 races. It’s been an incredibly strong relationship, with Honda’s dedication and expertise playing a key role,” he said.

Looking to the future, Red Bull is preparing to manufacture its own engines through a new powertrain collaboration with Ford, beginning in 2026. These power units will not only equip Red Bull’s own cars but will also be used by Racing Bulls (formerly AlphaTauri).

During the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, Horner acknowledged the scale of the transition. “It’s a massive undertaking, but we’re making great progress. By this time next year, our engines will be running in two Grand Prix teams,” he stated.

With a cutting-edge facility in Milton Keynes, Red Bull is poised to take full control of its power unit development, ushering in a new chapter as they aim to maintain their place at the forefront of Formula 1.
