Christian Horner Slams FIA Decision After Red Bull R…read more

Christian Horner has vehemently criticized a recent FIA ruling regarding the legality of a ride‑height adjustment device on Red Bull’s RB20, calling the governing body’s move “paranoia-driven” and unfair.

The controversy erupted after the FIA temporarily sealed a component on the RB20 used to adjust front ride height—typically accessible only by disassembling the car’s front end. Horner revealed that this device has been publicly documented and used by multiple F1 teams for over three years ).

“What’s been interpreted as suspicious was actually in plain sight,” Horner told Sky Sports F1. “It would be easier to adjust a rear rollbar than this device. We’ve had scrutineers, witnesses, cameras… our car has been under more scrutiny in three years than anyone else’s” ).

He suggested that a rival team prompted the FIA to take action. “Because I think there’s been a bit of moaning from one of our rivals, and it’s the FIA’s job to look into these things,” Horner commented, emphasizing that the FIA concluded the device was compliant after inspection .

Horner further defended the team’s position, noting that the device cannot be tampered with during parc fermé conditions. “It’s sealed now to satisfy perhaps some paranoia elsewhere in the paddock,” he quipped.

With the FIA officially clearing the part and Horner publicly challenging the decision, Red Bull maintains it’s being unfairly targeted. The episode has reignited debate over transparency and rival‑driven narratives in today’s tightly regulated F1 landscape.
